Every journey begins with a first step, this is mine. Welcome to the start of something new: a space where ideas take shape and my creativity stretches its legs. To me, this blog is part notebook, part conversation, and part playground for ideas that don’t fit neatly anywhere else. Some days it might be thoughtful, other days practical, and sometimes just fun. Either way, I’m glad you’re here with me at the start. Beginnings hold their own wonder, and I’m ready to see what unfolds.

So, let’s start with the reason I’m here, the spark behind Winchell Creative.

This isn’t just a project or a name. It’s the result of a shift…a reckoning, a moment when life pressed pause and asked me who I really wanted to be moving forward. For a long time, my ideas stayed in my head, restlessly bouncing around, waiting for me to give them air. But change has a way of turning “someday” into “right now,” and lately, I’ve had to listen.

Reflecting, I realized something that stung: I had drifted from creation, from bringing things to life. In the grind, I let that part of myself dim. I missed it badly.

The truth is, I love to create. Always have. Whether it’s through words or visuals, conversation or design, I come alive in the process of taking something raw and pulling it into the world. Maybe that spark came from the twelve years I spent on the overnight shift, where delirious 4 a.m. conversations turned into wild thought experiments. Maybe it was always just who I am: restless, curious, hungry to explore what’s possible.

That’s what Winchell Creative is about. It’s a home for all of it: the books I’ll write, the projects I’ll build, and the ideas I’ll chase down when they refuse to leave me alone. A place where creativity isn’t just something I dip into now and then, but something I live.
